The Great Ghost Stake Out #1 Part I

• A little intro on what a Stake Out is:

• The Team Arrives: The team arrived before the guests to get set up. One of the first things was some pre-investigation interviews. This is Chris interviewing another team member, Greg. I eavesdropped a little.

• The Guests Arrive: After the six guest ghost hunters arrived, it was time to take them on a mini walking tour of our very haunted little town. This image is shot at the William T Barbour home where there is a ton of residual activity. No need to move anyone on, they aren’t stuck here. Just an imprint of their lives and time spent in the home over the years. This is what we refer to as a Residual Haunt. People have seen things and/or felt things in the building, but it is a warm and happy place to be. You may notice the silver backing coming off of the mirror. That’s not the unusual part…the unusual part is the shape(s) it is forming as the backing peels itself away from the glass…

Paranormal Investigation Workshop:: The walking tour wrapped up and we all settled in for the workshop on how to use all the tools of the trade. Each person got an instrument of some sort; and EMF detector, a camera, a temperature gauge, etc. Here’s a snippet of audio of Carrie telling a story about when she investigated this building several years ago and the light beam on the temperature gauge bounced around, “fish bowl” style, something unseen.

Investigation Underway: We walked the group around downstairs, then up, acquiring baseline temp and EMF readings so we would notice changes. I knew very quickly, the action was going to be in the downstairs kitchen. So, that’s where we headed. Very dark. Very cramped. Very cluttered. So we only went in 2-3 people at a time. Chris followed me with the camera in before the rest of the group. I found an agitated man right away. We followed him (as we had done before) around the kitchen trying to gather evidence of his existence. Instead of running around in circles as before, we split up and met in the middle. When we met, he was cornered and we both felt his powerful presence. In this audio clip, you’ll understand why I still refer to myself as the Reluctant Medium. I was quite startled by the jolt of running into him. I couldn’t see or hear him, but his mood was quite apparent to me. I will be returning to this location several more times this season, so hopefully I will be able to help him move on during a return trip.

• Moving the investigation back upstairs: We all went back upstairs, took some more pictures, took some more EMF and temperature readings, sat quietly during an EVP session, and walked around through the many rooms and long hallways just getting a general feeling for any possible activity. We all agreed it was pretty quiet up there, so we decided to move to our second location of the night. But not before snapping this picture of a doll on a hallway table. Her eyes seemed to looking right into you. I find dolls creepy anyway, so maybe it was just my overactive imagination…
